Even though they stem from distinct musical cultures, the three works in this programme have one common element. Be it a Sonata, composed by an Italian by birth and training, an Italian Concerto, which owes everything to a genre established by Vivaldi, or a suite drawn from an extremely popular ballet which, as we all know, is set in Verona, they are all closely connected to beautiful Italy.
